George Bloomer Obituary

George A. Bloomer, 86, of Maple Valley Road, Coventry, RI, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at Kent Hospital in Warwick, RI. Born on March 30, 1939, in West Warwick, RI, he was the beloved husband of Mary Charlotte (Kenyon) Bloomer. They shared sixty-one years of marriage. He was the son of the late William and Olive (Flint) Bloomer.

George served as the program planner for the NR‑1 underwater submarine program at General Dynamics Electric Boat, where he dedicated thirty‑five years before retiring. He was a proud U.S. Army veteran who served with the 101st Airborne Division and was stationed in Germany during peacetime.

An avid animal lover, George found great joy spending time at Maple Valley Farm in Coventry.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sister, Judith Case. He was predeceased by his brother, William Roger Bloomer. He will also be dearly missed by his Maine Coon feline companion, Miss Tommi.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2026 at 10:00 am in the St. Vincent de Paul Church, 6 St. Vincent de Paul Way, Coventry, followed by U.S. Military Honors. Burial will be private.
