Wayne Burden Obituary

Wayne G. Burden, 83, of West Warwick, RI, passed away on Sunday, April 21, 2024, after a valiant fight against bile duct cancer. Born on August 26, 1940, in Dighton, MA, he was the husband of Roberta Reiss and the son of the late J. Gordon and Helen E. (Bullock) Burden. 

He graduated from Taunton High, where he was a standout basketball and baseball player. He and his first wife raised their daughters in Attleboro, MA, where he was very active in the community. Known by many for his engaging personality and fun spirit, he was active throughout his life in many sports, including his favorites, boating and golfing. As an avid follower of many sports, he prided himself on being an authority on sports trivia. He loved spending time with his family, especially for celebrations.  

Wayne was the co-owner and operator of Northeast Marketing, West Warwick, RI, for thirty years. 

Wayne is also survived by his three daughters, Terri L. B. Partridge and her fiancé Craig Conrad of Boston, Elizabeth Burden Taylor and husband Mark Taylor of Sandwich, and Leanne Burden Seidel and husband Keith Seidel of Norton; six grandchildren, Madeline Partridge, Amelia Partridge, Kyle Taylor, Morgan Taylor, Lexie Taylor-Tice and Devan Seidel; a great-grandson, Jayden Tice; a brother, Barry Burden; nieces and nephews; and Roberta’s daughter, Valerie Reiss, her husband Brad Carmody and their son Hudson. He was predeceased by a sister Audrey Kull.
